Polymetal to invest $778 mln in gold refining in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- Polymetal International, precious metals producer focused on Russia and Kazakhstan, plans to invest U.S. $778 million in refining gold in Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh president said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Investment in a project for refining of 300,000 tonnes of gold concentrate with production of 15 tonnes of gold will amount 347 billion tenge ($778 million),” the statement read.

The company finished redomiciliation from the Jersey Island to the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) in Kazakhstan.
